    PayPay’s American Depositary Shares (ADSs) will be listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on March 12, 2026 (U.S. time). 

  • Where is PayPay listed? What is PayPay’s ticker symbol?

    PayPay’s American Depositary Shares (ADSs) will be listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market in the United States. The ticker symbol is PAYP. The underlying ordinary shares represented by the ADSs are not listed on any domestic or foreign exchange. 

  • Is PayPay listed on any Japanese stock exchange?

    No. PayPay is not listed on any Japanese stock exchange.

  • Can I purchase or sell PayPay shares directly from PayPay?

    No. PayPay does not sell shares directly to investors. Transactions must be made through a brokerage firm. PayPay does not provide a direct purchase plan or a dividend reinvestment plan.

  • What is an ADR/ADS?

    An ADR is a negotiable security that evidences ownership of American Depositary Shares (ADSs). ADSs represent an interest in the shares of a non-U.S. company traded in the U.S. financial markets. Please note that American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) in respect of PayPay’s American Depositary Shares (ADSs) will not be issued except in limited circumstances.

  • Can ADSs be converted into ordinary shares?

    Subject to certain exceptions, ADS holders may surrender their ADSs to The Bank of New York Mellon, as depositary, to receive the underlying ordinary shares, upon payment of the relevant fees, expenses, and any applicable taxes or governmental charges. You should contact your brokerage firm for procedures and requirements relating to such conversion. The ordinary shares, unlike the ADSs, are not listed on any exchange in Japan or overseas. As a result, transfers or monetization may be impracticable, and the ordinary shares are classified as unlisted shares for Japanese tax purposes.

  • Who is the depositary bank?

    The depositary bank is The Bank of New York Mellon.

  • How do I purchase PayPay's ADSs?

    You may contact a licensed stockbroker to purchase ADSs of PayPay.

  • What is the unit of ADSs transactions?

    On the U.S. Nasdaq market, ADSs trade in units of one ADS. One ADS represents one ordinary share. Please check with your brokerage, as supported trading units may vary by broker.

  • Can I trade in Japanese yen?

    Trades on the U.S. market are settled in U.S. dollars. Some brokers may offer yen-denominated trade/settlement options—please check with your brokerage.

  • When is the general meeting of shareholders held?

    Every year we hold an Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in late June. Schedules are available at IR Calendar. Please note that ADS holders cannot directly attend shareholder meetings. Documents such as the notice of convocation of the general meeting of shareholders will be provided in English. For questions about exercising voting rights corresponding to the ordinary shares represented by ADSs, please contact brokerage firm.

  • Who is the shareholder registry administrator for PayPay?

    The shareholder register administrator for our ordinary shares is Mizuho Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. Please note, however, that Mizuho Trust & Banking does not maintain the register for the ADR/ADS program.

  • When will notice of the shareholder meeting be delivered?

    Regarding ADSs, the shareholder of record on our share register is the depositary, The Bank of New York Mellon, and we will treat The Bank of New York Mellon as the shareholder for the purpose of convening and conducting shareholder meetings. Accordingly, ADS holders cannot attend shareholder meetings. We will notify the depositary of the date of the shareholders’ meeting and provide details of the matters to be voted on at least 30 days before the meeting. The depositary will arrange for those notices to be forwarded to the brokerage firms that hold ADSs in custody. If you do not receive a notice or have questions about exercising voting rights for the ordinary shares represented by your ADSs, please contact your brokerage firm. Please note that all meeting materials will be provided in English.

  • Can ADS holders exercise voting rights?

    ADS holders cannot directly attend shareholder meetings. Questions about exercising voting rights corresponding to the ordinary shares represented by ADSs should be directed to your brokerage firm.

  • Please tell me about PayPay's dividend policy and next payout date.

    As of today, PayPay does not pay a regular dividend. If a dividend is declared, we will disclose the details on this site and via news releases. 

  • What is the procedure for the notification or change of name and address?

    For changes to your registration details as an ADS holder, please contact the brokerage firm through which you hold the ADSs.
